Shamanism is the oldest spiritual tradition known to humankind, estimated to be about 100,000 years old according to anthropologists. The term “shaman” means “one who sees in the dark” and originated in the Tungus tribe in Siberia. Shamanism is used by various cultures to assist with healing people, animals and the environment.  It is used for divination, extraction, healing soul and power loss, empowering the deceased to cross to the upper world, counseling, coaching and intuitive guidance to assist people, inanimate objects and the environment.  Positive energy helps the mind, body, spirit, soul and higher self in people, animals and places.  Shamanic healing is a form of quantum healing, i.e. inter-dimensional and multidimensional.
In ancient times, shamans worked with intuition, massage, herbs, nutrition, counseling, and perform sacred ceremony.  They were the original “general practitioners” who were the wisdom keepers.
The terms "ordinary reality" and "nonordinary reality" come from Carlos Casteneda.  Ordinary reality is one in which we can all agree that there is a clock on the wall. Nonordinary reality is the reality that is associated with the shamanic state of consciousness; that is, when the consciousness has been altered and you're able to see what you normally don't see in an ordinary state of consciousness. For example, if I show you a photo of my mother, you would not have the same emotional relationship as when I say the word “mother”.  When I say the word “mother”, this will likely elicit feelings in your heart which is likely different in each person.  These feelings can be thought of as non-ordinary reality.
Shamans use sound to journey to non-ordinary reality to connect with power animals, spirit guides, teachers, ascended masters, angels, etc.  Listening to a drumbeat for 13-15 minutes causes the brain to entrain to the theta brainwave measured on EEGs and that brainwave allows for visions, sounds, altered states of reality, and useful for relaxation.  It is the state just before sleep. The American Medical Journal states over 90% of all illnesses are caused by stress.  As the Theta brainwave is deeply relaxing, it would be beneficial to use this brainwave for wellbeing.  Healing modalities such as Thetahealing also use this brainwave.
The Lower World is reached by journeying through a tunnel that leads into the earth. This world seems very earthy and tangible to the shaman and is characterized by caves, seas, dense jungles, forests, and deserts. The beings inhabiting the Lower World are the spirits of animals, trees, plants, and rocks as well as human spirits that are connected with the mysteries of the earth.

The Upper World is experienced as more ethereal than the Lower World. The lighting is bright and can go from pastels, to gray, to complete darkness.  In the Upper World I might know I am standing on something but what is holding me might seem vague.  The landscape here is also very varied. There are crystal cities and cities of clouds. This level also inhabits a variety of spirits.
The Middle World is the hidden reality of the world we live in. In the Middle World the shaman can travel back and forth in time. Journeying to the Middle World is useful for clarity and guidance about daily life. It is also a place where the shaman can journey in looking for lost objects.
Soul retrieval is useful when parts of the soul have left due to trauma.  Trauma can range from minor to severe, causing loss of power.  Your soul is your essence, a bundle of your spiritual energies. It's how the "molecules" of your immortal spirit connect to your conscious and physical forms. That connection and essence can be lost.  This essence is conscious, and it also can choose to vacate due to difficult situations. This is the concept referred to as "soul loss".  The shaman journeys to locate and heal the lost soul fragments and return them to the client.  The client feels stronger and is able to be more present in the body. Soul retrieval is important in the context of counseling or coaching because when the soul is more present, it has more power to move forward.  In Psychology, we call that disassociation but we do not usually talk about what was disassociated and where it went.
Soul Remembering is useful after a soul retrieval as the remembering work done by the recipient is essential: to keep and root the soul parts; to learn what qualities have been returned with the essence; to discover how to use the new energy; and to release any attitudes that continue to block wholeness.  During soul remembering, we gain knowledge of our soul’s purpose in the world. The gifts, talents, and strengths that soul remembering brings offer us wonderful beauty, vitality, and awareness in our lives.
Extraction is also used by shamans to remove intrusive energies in the physical, mental, emotional, etheric, causal and spiritual bodies, leaving the client feeling calmer and energetically clearer.  In South American Jaguar Medicine, it is believed that the luminous energy field which surrounds the physical body contains information which can be activated to heal the client.  Any intrusive energy is extracted from the luminous energy field.
Shamanic divination work is also used to journey to ask the helper spirits, power animals and ascended masters to provide guidance and clarity for the client.  The information from such work can work harmoniously with life coaching as the information is detailed, clear and multidimensional.
Also Shamanic counseling is useful to journey to ask the helper spirits to provide information and guidance about issues especially regarding the dynamics of relationships and situations and share these with the client so that the client is aware and can move forward in an empowered way.
Shamanic ceremony is helpful in celebrating and acknowledging milestones in the client’s life.  People are able to move forward when they process their feelings in ceremony.  Most people are familiar with the power of ceremony in baptismals, weddings, bar mitzvahs and funerals.  Ceremonies are also done to change weather and bring positive results.
Shamanic practitioners include people of all religions, spiritual traditions, ethnicities, places of origin and include men and women.  My first shamanic workshop in the United States included over 90 people who had a PhD in Psychology, Psychiatry or MD.
Shamanism is enjoying resurgence in use internationally as we move to a time when we live with awareness of connection to all that is for self-healing, assisting others, and honoring mother Earth.

Rei is a Japanese word which means “universal” and is a reference to the higher dimension of light and the soul.  Ki is a Japanese word which means vital life force energy which interpenetrates and connects all.
Reiki is a powerful, natural healing system which works to balance and promote wellbeing in the physical., etheric,  emotional, mental, astral, causal, soul and spiritual bodies. The physical body is the vessel for the organs, bones, blood, nerves and cells of the body and Reiki serves to balance the meridiens and chakras of the body, thereby effecting healing.  The etheric body is closest to the physical body and is the blueprint upon which the cells and organs are built.  The etheric body will show an illness before the physical body has shown a physical symptom.  Reiki serves to heal the etheric body so the client may choose to not have the physical symptom.   The emotional body is the container of feelings, and it follows the outline of the body but extends further than the etheric.  Reiki is effective in healing emotions so that the client is a witness to the feelings but is not attached to feelings.  The mental body is associated with thoughts and mental processes.  Reiki serves to balance the right and left brain for more balance.  The astral body is the fourth layer and contains the essence of our personality.  It is the boundary layer between the current individual personality and a more collective spiritual awareness.  It is at this level that many of us create cords in our chakras that extend to other people.  Reiki serves to dissolve these cords so that we are able to have more love and light and we do not hurt other people with these cords.  The causal body links the personality to the collective unconscious and is the doorway to higher levels of consciousness.  It is golden in color and contains within it bands of other colors which contain info on the client’s karma and their purpose for incarnating at this time.  Reiki is effective in healing any memories or attachments from previous lives and understanding the present incarnation.  The soul body is the sixth subtle level and focuses fine levels of universal energy and is related to the idea of the Higher Self.  Reiki works to heal the higher self.  The spiritual body is the 7 subtle body and contains and integrates all other subtle energies.  It has access to all universal energies.  As Reiki is a universal life force energy, it heals all the above bodies in a powerful, natural, easy and relaxed way.
Reiki serves to increase the inner flow of vital energy within the sender and the receiver so that both are receiving a healing simultaneously.
Reiki is thought to be a very ancient energy which was rediscovered by Dr. Mikao Usui in Japan in approximately 1914.  Dr. Usui initiated 17 Reiki masters, including Dr. Chujiro Hayashi who was a physician in the Japanese Navy.  Dr. Hayashi initiated Mrs. Hawayo Takata who was instrumental in bringing Reiki to the west.
The Usui Reiki principles adopted by Dr. Usui are as follows:
The secret method of inviting blessings.
The spiritual method of many illnesses.
For today only, do not anger, do not worry.  Be grateful and do your work with appreciation. Be kind to all living things.  In the morning and at night, with hands held in prayer, think this with your mind, Chant this with your mouth.  The Usui Reiki Method to change your mind and body for the better.
In addition to Usui Reiki, there are other kinds of Reiki such as Sekhem Seichim Reiki which is a powerful integration of Sekhem, Seichim and Usui Reiki.  These distinct multidimensional energies allow a person to balance and harmonize completely to enable more love and light.  Sekhem is an Egyptian word meaning power or might, and was rediscovered by Patrick Ziegler in the great pyramid in Egypt in 1979.  Sekhem can also be described as chi, ki, prana or barakat and it is all around us and in us.  Seichim is a living light energy as well as an ancient Egyptian system of healing wisdom.  Reiki is a Japanese word meaning universal life force.  Level one of the SSR energy includes a sacred initiation into the Sekhem I energy, Usui power symbol energy, angelic light weaving, scanning the aura and the history and uses of SSR.  Level two of the SSR energy initiates us to the Sekhem 2 empowerment, 3 Usui second degree symbols, distant healing, Reiki for specific issues and crystal grids.  Level Three of the SSR connects us to the Sekhem Master symbol, and other SSR symbols, Usui Master symbol, how to teach SSR and the ethics and professional development in being a SSR Master.
Reiki is non-invasive and completely safe and may be used in complement with prayer, meditation, massage, reflexology, crystals, sound healing, acupuncture, naturopathic medicine, shamanic healing and mainstream medicine. Reiki may be used on oneself or others, for animals and plants, food, water, vitamins and medications.  It may also be used to send distance healing to people who are in their physical bodies or those who have passed over.
Research on Reiki in hospital settings indicates reduced pain levels, shortened patient stays, less need for pain medications, reduced rate of organ transplant rejection and increased sense of wellbeing. Reiki is used in over 200 hospitals in the U.S.
I invite you to take a Usui Reiki workshop to empower you with a sacred initiation with profoundly positive results.

Twin Soul:
Unending Love
I seem to have loved you in numberless forms, numberless times.. in life after life, in age after age, forever. My spellbound heart has made and remade the necklace of songs, that you take as a gift, wear around your neck in your many forms, in life after life, in age after age, forever.
Whenever I hear old chronicles of love, it's age old pain, it's ancient tale of being apart or together as I stare on and on into the past, in the end you emerge, clad in the light of a pole-star, piercing the darkness of time.  You become the image of what is remembered forever.
You and I have floated here on the stream that brings from the fount.  At the heart of time, love of one for another.  We have played along side millions of lovers, shared in the same shy sweetness of meeting, the distressful tears of farewell, old love but in shapes that renew and renew forever.  Today it is heaped at your feet, it has found its end in you, the love of all man's days both past and forever: universal joy, universal sorrow, universal life, the memories of all loves merging with this one love of ours - and the songs of every poet past and forever.  By Rabindranath Tagore.
