Hypnosis

The subconscious mind is responsible for 95% of our daily life.  The conscious mind makes up 5% of daily life.  The conscious mind typically holds 1.5 hours of information before moving it to the critical mind which is made up of 50% of conscious mind and 50% of subconscious mind.  The critical mind holds information for 24 hours before it rejects the information or transfers it to the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is made up of values, beliefs, emotions, mass consciousness, and it "takes orders".  It does not know the difference between imaginary and real.  By accessing the subconscious mind, we can make effective and powerful changes in daily life.

Hypnotherapy allows you to remain awake, in a theta brainwave so that you are in the state just before sleep.  You are in control, aware and no one can do anything to you against your will.  It is a form of deep relaxation.  Most of us are in waking hypnosis every day when the mind drifts into relaxation.

Myths and Facts About Hypnosis:

Myth: Hypnosis is a supernatural occult practice.
Fact: Hypnosis is scientific, and is a natural manifestation of the powers of the human mind.  

Myth: A person can be hypnotized against his/her will.
Fact: A person must consent to be hypnotized before they can be induced to enter a hypnotic state.

Myth: A hypnotist can use some soothing words and soft music to lull the client to sleep.
Fact: In hypnosis, the conscious mind is completely relaxed and rested but not asleep.  In sleep, the conscious mind is to some extent still tense and alert. 

Myth: Weak-willed people make the best clients.
Fact: Clients who focus well, are imaginative, and intelligent are ideal hypnosis clients.

Myth: The hypnotist's will dominates that of the client.
Fact: There is no domination or submission in hypnosis.  The hypnotist helps the client to express their latent or hidden abilities.

Myth: Only a small proportion of the population can be hypnotized.
Fact: 90-95% of adults can be hypnotized.

Myth: Hypnosis requires a deep trance.
Fact: Parts Therapy, Age Regression and Past Life Regression require the client to verbalize during hypnosis so a light trance is used. 

Myth: A person knows nothing when they are hypnotized.
Fact: In light and medium stages of hypnosis, the client is fully aware of what is being said and done. They will remember every detail.

Fact: According to the American Health Magazine, the recovery rates for various treatments are:

Psychoanalysis: 38% recovery after 600 sessions.
Behavior Therapy: 72% recovery after 22 sessions.
Hypnotherapy: 93% recovery after 6 sessions.
